“We are here to help the younger Iranian generation to stay in touch with their roots and learn about Iranian culture..”
Who We Are
Andisheh School is a mother tongue and supplementary school established in March 2008 by a group of volunteers interested and involved in teaching Persian (Farsi) to children and young people from Persian-speaking backgrounds or Anglo-Iranians in the borough of Barnet. We are a voluntary, not-for-profit group.
Our aim is to preserve and promote the Iranian culture to the children and young people by teaching the language and organising cultural events and our mission is to create an environment where through cultural and educational events, youngsters learn to connect with Iranian heritage and take pride in it. This is also vital in giving a sense of identity and belonging which in turn helps them succeed in their mainstream studies, participate more in UK life and improve their self-esteem.
All our tutors are DBS checked and we fully comply with Child Protection Policy. In 2010 Andisheh School was granted a Bronze Award and in 2015 the school achieved a Silver Award in the Quality Framework for supplementary Schools by NRCSE .
We are a member of the Barnet supplementary schools, to which our Treasures acts as the chair person. Our management committee consists of five members with a range of skills and experiences.
